Nolasco leads Marlins to shutout of Pirates

Nolasco (14-8) allowed five hits, walked one and struck out nine for the Marlins, who snapped a four-game slide. Jose Veras tossed two frames and Clay Hensley worked the ninth to finish the six-hit shutout.

Gaby Sanchez had two hits and two runs batted in while Wes Helms went 1-for-3 with a walk and scored twice for Florida, which halted a five-game losing streak at PNC Park.

Zach Duke (5-12) suffered the loss after yielding five runs on nine hits and a pair of walks in 5 2/3 innings for the Pirates, who have dropped eight of nine.
